happy birthday, to me
so amanda and i have been slightly lacking in spntaneous adventures, but just last night, we were walking aimlessly around the tru campus in the middle of the night, when we decided to follow this random new road that lead past new rez, even though the sign said not to because of construction... and we had a fantastic time, or rather, i had a fantastic time rolling tires down hills into old buildings while amanda watched and laughed as i chased the rogue escapees down the hills. i'm sure it was quite comical, actually... i just figured why carry a perfectly round, heavy, muddy, grippy object down a hill when it could much more easily transport itself? so i let it roll, and i figured i would just punch it over when it was time to stop. but it didnt want to stop... i punched and punched, and i even kicked, but the damn thing just would NOT stop rolling. i seriously like inflicted some wicked kung fu on that beast, but to no avail. so then i raced it down the hill for a ridiculous amount of time (basically until i could run no longer because i was laughing so hard, and that action had kind of claimed all of the air in my lungs..) anyhoo, there were lots of old tires, and we even managed to jump one off of a wicked lumpy hill, and into some sort of derelict (or so we hope) building.
but we got bored of this soon, because tires are heavy, and just kept walking off our boston pizza jumbalya/spaghetti filled bellies, following this suspiciously long and nicely paved road, and we followed it all the way up to this suspicious construction site that was all "no trespassing" and blocked off and crap, and there was a mysterious big work truck that seemed content with just shining his lights at us, while we debated climbing over the fences... to get to this really tall mountain which we figured would have a FANTASTIC veiw of kamloops, because even the new rez parking lot gives a pretty amazing perspective. anyhoo, hopping the fences just really didnt seem like a good idea in the current circumstances, because who knows just who was in the truck anyways. (we were thinking along the lines of cop or big, burly, angry, scary constuction workers.
so we climbed the mountain from a place further back along the road instead, amd it was EXCELLENT! we actually hiked up a random ass mountain just for fun in the middle of the night, even though we were constantly in danger of being charged by vicious (or at least manda say that deer are vicious...sigh) deer that seemed to be roaming everywhere.. i will actually admit that some of those enormous horns could probably do some damage given the right circumstancesssss. anyhoo, the veiw up there was freaking FANTASTIC!! you could see like 270 degrees of AMAZING, and i loooveeeed it! it felt like we were on the top of the world! (like in titanic when jack yells that when the are standing on the railing, yes? ^_^ everyone quotes titanic right!?) i pretty much almost yelled that but then... didnt.
anyhoo it is fantastic, and we are going to make climbing mountains our new fabulous hobby! we may even go again tonighhttt, its also very fantastic exercice, and there are a LOT of totally hikable mountains around hereee ^_^
i promise to blog again sooon
or i promise i'l try anyways haha
so yes.
i am off to read calvin and hobbes now,
(my most AMAZINGTASTIC present from lib, i probably have never mentioned that i am a calvin and hobbes FREAK! ^_^)

titanic
sooo, weeks and weeks ago, amanda had a grand idea: go to hat creek and pick clams! So yesterday afternoon, we finally put the plan in action. we set out with good road trip music empty ice cream buckets. granted, we didnt actually decided to do this until about 1:30pm, and didnt actually leave the house until about threee.. and then we stopped for a dairy queen feast in cache creek, so by the time we got to the river, it was after four. as we were walking across the bridge to get down to the creek, i looked over and was all "look manda! that looks like a bazillion clams like riiighht down there!" and manda was like "no niki. those arent clams.." so i was like "fineee" and we tromped through the jungley underbrush for like ten minutes, slipping and sliding and crawling under barbed wire fences until we found a good beachey place to start clam hunting. alas... we found no clams! we hunted and hunted, and dug in the mud with improvised tools (branches) for ages! we even waded through the river to cross back and forth a few times, but to no avail. no clams. clam shells, yes. dirt filled, dead clams, yes. real live clams? NO. oh and did i mention? this is late afternoon. in a glacier fed creek. in the middle of nowhere adn the sun is setting.... we couldnt feel our feet! they were like little frozen clubs attached to the end of our legs!
finally, we gave up.
and as we're walking across the highway bridge back to our car, i looked over into the creek and was like "manda. are you SURE those are not clams??" and manda looks over and is like "ummm.. you know it kinda looks like it. omg those might be clams!" and then as we hiked down the other side of the creek, i grumbled threats about how these better not actually be clams because we just wasted half our lives splashing around upstream, because amanda was convinced that these clam-looking objects were in fact not clams. and, as you guessed. THEY WERE CLAMS! like fifty thousand clams right there! so we werre both quite disgruntled, and amanda sheepish, but we were also SOOO freaking excited that there were actually clams! but these clams were deep down, and we got SOAKED, like up to the neck, from reaching down to grab clams. we are pretty sure that's what the people in the ocean after titanic sunk felt like. we filled up our buckets in no time at all, but then realized we were greedy and needed more buckets of clams for our efforts! by this time, i'm pretty sure we were like majorly hypothermic or something because we could quit giggling, and could hardly climb the hill because it felt like we had no feet.. and as we get to the highway, this bum/hitchhiker sees us, and is clearly confused, because we just hiked up a random bank SOAKING wet in OCTOBER at dusk with heavy, dripping icecream buckets, laughing our asses off and grinning like fools. needless to say, we sort of made friend with the bum, and we told him what we were doing, and he though we were craaazyyy, basically.
so we try to find a bucket (no luck), and visit with the amazing horses across the road for a few minutes, and turn back to find out: BAM. timmy the car has a flat tire. a very very flat tire. but then the bum offers to help us, we whip out the donut tire, and by the way he's going, it looks like we'll be set to go in like.. five minutes! but alas, no. that is not the way the luck of amanda and niki goes. not at all. the last nut is STUCK on TIGHT. we flag people down to see if they have a tire pump or anything, but no luck, but lots stop to try to help get the tire off too - nothing worked. keep in mind: we're still soaking wet. people have NO idea wtf is going on, and the guy thats helping us keeps sticking his thumb out to cars.
we suspected that our hitchiker hadnt been on the road for too long however, because he wasnt very dirty, we noticed he had calvin klein underwear, and he was super duper nice. and he had what we suspect was a new zealand accent. nonetheless.. it was a bit creepy, but its not like we were going to turn away our only chance for a tire change!
one of the cars we had flagged down, (get this), had a DEAD DEER in the BACK SEAT, with its legs sticking out the window, and its ribs showing quite bloodily and clearly... it was so disturbing i could like hardly talk. we were supposed to be asking for a tire pump but all i could say was "theres a... theres a dead dead. dead deer. eeuughhh a dead deer in the back of your car. um a dead deer in the back of your car..." needless to say, they didnt help us, and then the next car that came along, picked up our hitchhiker. so then we were allll aloney, and decided, okay, time to start calling people with cars, which i noticed we actually know surprisingly few of... either nobody answered, nobody texted back, blah blah, and then my phone died. and then amandas phone started blinking its dying battery light, and we started to panic a little, because we decided to text now instead of calling because its less battery sucking... but our fingers were SO FROZEN that it took us like six minutes to make a legible message, but finally we had some luck, and kyle texted back, and decided to come saaaveee us! so we were saved, a couple of hours later, and spent a long time just roasting in my car, and changing into dry clothes we found (WHEW) ...good thing my car is so full of random crap. ^_^
but this is the worst part:
we got to amandas.
made the clams with garlic and butter and seasoning
and they were SICK SICK SICK NASTY.
sighh.
so now there are like 100 clams in the bathtub "cleansing" themselves of the disgusting, revolting bottom-feeding goop they ate.
and i may never eat seafood again.
scratch that,
i may never eat again, peroid.
so this evening, my aunt and uncle, amanda and i are heading out on a rescue mission to hat creek, to save timmy the car. :/
....gosh i wish i could write english essays with this much enthusiasm..

HOME SWEET HOME!
alrighty, everyone has been asking for house pictures, so i took some todaay! very quickly, mind, but i did take some :D - observe...
hmm i just realized i should have gotten one of the front of the house ! oopsie.. okay AAAND i just looked at the pics on the compy for the first time, and i realized JEEEZZZ are they every blurry! but the flash on my camera doesnt work anymore nso there was really no other options hahaha. i'm sure you can get the gist of it anyways:::
entranceway/livingroom/futon ^_^
living room! i have a loveeelyyy bigdesk, and where a tv would normally go... we have fishtank full of lovely cute goldfish hahaha.
kitchen! i have a good good small fridge, stove, etc etc, only lacking a microwave now actually! hehe.
lookit all those great clean dishes! hahah.
and YES i actually doo have food! mostly the packaged sort, but still. i have some! :)
i think we'll all admit that its a damn shame i can't cook!
i am pretty much sure that this is waaaay too much silverware for any one person! it would take me like two months to use all of this cutlery.... i was counting and i have like almost thirty spoons.. HAHAH.
i know, i know. its a toilet. but i felt that you need to see ALLLL of the house! and this is the entrance to bathrooom, so there you go.
ahhh, closet space. thank goodness for it! :)
siiinkkkky
bed!
bathtubbb
bed!
closetttt! or rather... cupboard. its rather odd. i have to keep my underwear on a shelf. . .
anyhoo, there you have it! my lovely humble abode. how i love it! and its yelllooowww! practically my dream home heheh :D:D and its mine mine mine alllll mineeee. hahah.
anyhoo, on another bloggable note, i had a GREAT GREAT GREAT anthropology class todaY! because frances and i showed up, we sat down, the prof talked for like 15 mins about our test coming up, gave out a handout, which i started reading while frances started texting, and then.. BAM everyone was just egtting up and putting away their books! it was tres tres confusing, we were all like wtf, we can't have a break already?! but it turns out our techer was sick! so we all just got to leave whooo! so instead of three hours of awful boringness, we suddenly had tons of free time on our hands! ^_^ it just made my day, because that like NEVER EVER happens!
ohhhmygoshhh, funnnyyy story that i felt the need to share: everyyy night, i drive amanda home, alll the way up summit drive. and eeeeveryyy day, i do about eighty going up this hill. (assuming there is no slow-moving traffic blocking the way, and when there is i just develop a mild case of road rage, and pass or honk etc etc...) anyhooo, for the last few days, every time i attempt to speed, i am just completely blocked by a huge long ass line of cars doing THIRTY kms up this hill! and it made me so angry! but then yesterday, i realized something... and it was that this was a school zone. sigh. and then i realized DAMN i had been lucky that everytime i had seen a cop i was stuck behind slow-moving-law-abiders!!
anyhoo, i'm going to head downstairs and brainstorm fun things to do tonight with frances haha. ttylll!

INTERNET AT LAST!
Bonjouuuur! My goodness its been a long time since I’ve even touched blogspot! Gasp! So I will start with this: sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry ! I hope I havent lost any of you faithful readers out there! Because I am back in business, once again!
Ohhhh boy, a lot has happened in the last . . . What has it been? Like a month? Two? My life has taken a HUGE 180, and nothing is the same as it used to be, AT ALL! For starters, I have my own fully furnished basement suite! YES! YES I DO! FOR REAL! All to my self! *mine mine mine hehehe* yeah well anyways I am pretty freaking fantabulously excited! It happened basically because things just weren’t going very well AT ALL at my aunt and uncles, our personalities clashed insanely. They wanted me home at ten every weeknight, I wanted to be home whenever I wanted, all the time. Blargh. But now I have that! I’d go into great detail describing my lovely new abode, but I think I shall just upload pictures instead. Well… at a later date because I am currently typing this on Microsoft works word processor (sigh) while I eat chili from a can, because I don’t have internet here yet because I am much much much too broke. Upside: I finally have access to a camera! I will simply bring my compy to Frances’s, and VOILA!
“Niki, what on earth is the next new and exciting thing in your life?!” you may be asking? Well: I’M SINGLE! Yipeeeee! Its actually much more great that I expected! Now you all must be thinking “OMG why?!!!” But I don’t really feel like publishing the whole entire story to the world wide web, but if you really want to know and are basically oozing curiosity from every pore in your body right now, just message me! I’d want to know I if I were you too. For those who are too shy to ask.. Or are my secret readers that never leave a comment etc etc, (yes I know you are out there, no, I don’t know who you are), just know that the song “Before He Cheats by Carrie Underwood” suddenly has newfound meaning in my life. And now I suspect you all wonder how I am coping, and the answer is: surprisingly awesome! I thought I would be curled up into a tiny dark hole crying my eyes out for weeks, but I didn’t even do that AT ALL! In fact, we only borke up on Thursday o_O (feels like longer). HELL YES I was suuuper angry I even did some grant-beating, and possession trashing, but now I feel relief, and there isn’t even much sadness. I cant miss someone like that, so I have moved on and am SO excited to have fun and move my life onwards and upwards. Its high time for some FUN.
Now I suspect you are all marveling at how much of a life alteration I have had in the last… week, and you wonder, what else could there possibly be? I answer you with: OMFGKDSJFKSLDFJ I GOT A JOB! Okay, okay, so its not really a thriller…. >.< I work at Carlton Cards in the sahali centre mall (tinier than wl’s) and I work with two elderly (COUGH, ancient) women (one of which has a ridiculous semblance to a turtle... But they are both nice at least! I’ve been needing retail therapy SOOO badly lately, and I finally got my chance: we are only allowed to wear black and white and dress pants! I WAS THRILLED - because it gave me an excuse to go buy cute outfits at ricki’s ^_^ anyhow, back to the job part: I work 20 hours a week basically, and make nine dollars an hour, and provide excellent customer service and selling skill’s, which I kick ass at. So like working at bootlegger without the clothes. And the fun. But whatever, so it will be boring, I’m still thrilled to finally have a job! :D:D I begin Friday at 2!
Now you ask, “Jeez Niki, what completed this 180 anyways??” And I answer you: school! It finally started, (today as a matter of fact, I had English, and anthropology starts at 5:30-8:30) and I am pretty excited! I mean, I should be… I’m paying like 8923753289578934275 dollars for it! Anthropology, Sociology and English. I’m thrilled, they are my fave fave subjects! Plus there are a couple of cute boys in my English course too, and at least I know they are halfway smart, because to be in that course, you have to get 73% or higher in Eng 12! Hurrah. ….. Oh, ps: my eng teacher is tres tres tres good looking :]
Anyhow, now I am going to sum up my 180, because I feel like you all need to understand JUST how 180ish this is. I now am single, going to school three days a week, working 20 hours a week, with my own house, paying rent, buying food, and vacuuming etc etc. I have dress pants and collared shirts for heavens sake! I party hardy with frances and the dorm guys on weekends (sans grant), and life is gooood! Correction: life is EXCELLENTTT.
OH and I got a gym pass and go every every day :] well… starting yesterday anyways ehhe.
Anyhoooo, frances is on her way here from French, so I shall blog later. Or perhaps add on to this one because I will most likely think of more bloggable things, and I cant exactly publish this without internet >.<
Ah I just thought of something! Its only three minutes, that’s okay. So, in case you were wondering, I thought I would mention that all fishies are swimming, not floating, after their secong move in 6 weeks! Boy are they ever hardy.. How I lovee them! In fact I was thinking of actually perhaps getting them a couple of new buddies from petland on buy one get one free fish day! How I love bogo!! In fact… I might even name one bogo, that would be awesome. A nice speckly one that is black AND white AND orange, like Benjamin was before he went all ninja chameleon on me.
Oooh I just thought of something else! GASP! I got a new phone! Gosh I sure needed one. My old one actually leaked battery acid! I KNOW RIGHT?! Talk about a like.. Explosion hazard. It was wicked freaky. Did lots of funky things, so my parents got me a two month early birthday present. I picked the keybo 2 on a contract, and BOYOHBOY is it ever amazing! I was never a keybo fan until this, in fact it has almost a very blackberry-esque look to it! And telus gave me this SUPER AMAZING deal on it because I threatened to go to bell! so here’s a well known tip: you want extra perks? Lie and say the other provider is offering you some good deal and if you cant get that you will switch to bell/TELUS/Rogers. Trust me, they comply. They never ever want to lose a customer. ;)
Peaceee
Okay so I definitely still haven’t published this and its been like another week, but I just thought I’d mention that by the time you are all reading this, I will have internet, WHOO! I got an awesome deal: 20$ a month, and a free modem, and it is sooo excellent! But it isn’t wireless, I have to have my laptop plugged in, which was like way fine until I found out the my one and only phone jack is like high up on the wall in the kitchen so I had to move my kitchen table to a dorky place, so I can keep my computer on it… sigh. But internet in the kitchen is definitely better than no internet at all!
So tomorrow I am going to go renew my car insurance, get a new bank card, and buy like twelve cans of raid to nuke all of the creepy crawlies creepy crawling around my house.. Because seriously its getting ridiculous how many of them are coming out of hiding.

tomato = niki
I AM SO SO SUNBURNT.
my skin is CRISPY. so sunburnt that i can draw a happyface on my stomach using only my fingers because if i poke my suinburn is stays super-white for a surpriseing and alarming span of time... so sunburnt that when i get in the shower pools of aloe-vera slime run off my skin into green puddles that sit on the bottom of the shower floor. gross, i know. so sunburnt that i am going to have skin cancer by the time i turn nineteen and the dry falky skin and wrinkles of an eighty year old woman by tomorrow. thats what i get for floating. or rather.. swimming down the river holding on to a floaty for three hours in the hot sun. sunscreen washes off easy,l i must say.
okay i LIE.
i forgot sunscreen...
kallie came to visit a couple of days ago, and me her and amanda had a super awesome time hanging out, all of us wl-ers in loops! we drove around town recklessly and cluelessly, and with fits of mild road rage, revving our engines and beating the other cars who we assumed wanted to "race" ... (in most instances when i say "we" i mean "i"..) the highlight of the day was, however, when we got a PARKING TICKET for parking in the value village parking lot for three and a half hours. we thought this would be free of charge. we even went into to VV and bought SHOES for heavens sake! yet they still ticketed us. granted, we did spend most of our time chowing down on chicken quessadillas at hello toast and browsing the goods of used bookstores and thrift shops. kallie even bought a new, working four dollar toaster for her new dorm!! anyhoo, we got our ticket and zoomed around town trying to find SOME way to pay it that didnt involve going to vancouver to use the impark debit, or mailing a cheque or paying with visa, and alas eventuaully came across the kamloops imapark office, where we met a lovely lady who asked us "would it be easier for you if i just made the ticket 15 dollars?" to which we replied "yes". we suspected that it was beyond her abilities to allow us to pay twice with debit and once with cash, as we had originally asked...
wait...
i just remembered that that was not the highlight of the day!
this was actually when we snuck into the accent inn to go swimming in its outdoor pool free of charge! "not possible" you say? well you are wrong! We simply boprrowed white towels from grant, (ironically, ones his aunt had stolen from various hotels in the first place...), put on our bathing suits, and took a somewhat roundabout and sneaky way to the pool! on the way, we listened at doors to see which room was clearly occupied so we would know which room number to say when we asked for the key to the hottub/sauna room. AND IT WORKED! WE ARE EVIL GENIUSES! :D we got hours and hours of free swimming!
anyhoooo, back to mundane things such as TRU.... my aptitude test went well, and i'd tell you what my top scorers were but i forget and i am at frances's so i can't even check. all of my top scorers were interesting and stuff, but on the decline and/or below the poverty line, which figures... in the end though, it didnt really end up affecting what i decided to take in school anyways, but is really really good to know anyways. so as of the beginning of september, i am taking Antropology, Sociology, and English! WHEEE! however, this is at a MASSIVE $$$ sacrifice...
i just looked in the mirror and noticed my resemblance to the netted bag of tomatoes sitting beside me.
i also got twitter! follow me!
and just so you know, i plan to get the comment thinger up and running soon. or rather... i plan to ask frances to fix it ^_^ and when i do, i expect some comments from all of you readers!
anyhow, i am off to get a new layout and paint my toes bright red i think. this one is far too gloomy for such a lovely kamloops summer!

living the high life
long time no update, i know, i know...
well its time for a good long one i think, because much has changed, for example: I LIVE IN KAMLOOPS?!?!? I LOVE IT HERE. so far things are going along so fine and dandy and just peachy keen that it makes me feel like eventually something has to go sour right? well i truly hope not. live in loops is far from sour. its downright sugary.
I have officially lived her exactly one week today. grant and i have been to the river almost every single sun-filled day, and its pretty awesome. my days are pretty much filled with hanging out with frances and nick and also grant after school, and going to see both of the ponies all of the time, which is AWESOME, but also a little sad, because through a very unfortunate series of events, they are both quite lame at the same time! :(
on tuesday grant, nick, frances and i ALL ventured out to fieldstone to visit lady, and we ended up giving her a nice bath (its been like plus forty here almost every day *whew*... even the horses need some respite) which ended up getting us all just soaking wet, and lady super squeaky clean! grant and i even had a sort of mini water fight, and i ended up dousing frances a couple of times... i was surprised, but grant was actually pretty enthusiastic about scrubbing lady down with pert plus, and then walking her around the arena to dry a little bit! i was thrilllleddd.
this weekend jodi might come up to visit, which i am SOO stoked about, so i really hope she can make it! and on monday, grant, nick, me, frances and grant's roommate jaret are all going to make a road trip up to vernon to go to the water slides there! and on sunday night we are having a bit of a "housewarming" for grant, heheh.
i am keeping my room here at my aunt and uncle's quite clean, which was basically the one condition i had to abide by in order to be allowed to board here, along with the rent, of course. it is sooo different than living at home: for example, tons and tons of food, and all the kinds that i like (gasp), its waaay quiter, i dont have to do the dishes or laundry or take out the trash, or make dinner or even be home at a certain time. It feels like i'm getting spoiled o_O. of course, there are other things that are different in another way... like i have to learn to recycle, make sure i wring out the dishcloth, i have to make sure i don't spray the mirror when i brush my teeth, and i always have to turn the lights off after i leave the room, hahah.
but honestly, i dont even have to wash my own towels!! my aunt comes in and tidies a little every day, remakes my bed if i do a not-entirely-perfect-job on it, and picks up random little things off of the floor. life is gooood. everything here is so perfectly neat and tidy, that tonight i almost had a heart attack when there was a toothpick sitting on the edge of the sink. i resisted the urge to throw it out... it must have been there for a reason. uncle bob doesnt just leave things lying about randomly... nor does he like the smell of popcorn, meat cooking in the house, or wet dishcloth. and i also discovered that my auntie seems to have an unequaled weakness for collecting EVERY sort of little shampoo, lotion, bar soap, body wash and mouthwash that a hotel can offer. in fact, her bathroom cupboards hide hordes of containers amassed into not-so-small armies of multicoloured amenities.
i took my aptitude test thinger from TRU on tuesday, and i am really excited to get the results next week!! i really just hope it doesnt say that i am best suited to being a janitor or something, because that would be a forty dollar rip off.. and a lifetime let-down.
i also went for a run on tuesday, and i am sure feeling it in my butt muscles today. let me tell you - its no mean feat to run uphill for twenty minutes in +40 degree weather after you havent so much walked more than ten feet at one time, to and from your car on your way to work and home...
speaking of work..
i really miss my job, no joke.
i went into the bootlegger here the other day, and it was just so WEIRD not being an employee there. also.. i got NO service at all. if i had been a secret shopper, boy oh boy they would have had a -1 coming right at them! i am going to apply there next week actually, and if i get hired they'll learn from a pro about customer service! hahahahah, kiddding a little. but really, just a little.
next tuesday i am going to go job hunt, but until then i think i've earned a bit of a break.
monday is also my dad's birthday and i have NO IDEA what to get him. except perhaps a mas order of socks from walmart hehehehe. it would be quite hilarious, as he almays complains about not having enough socks since mason is constantly stealing his. he just probably wouldnt expect to get about forty pairs. even if i do get his socks tomorrow, i still dont really think that they'd get there for monday since monday is a holiday... :( oooh well. better late than never, i suppose.
tonight grant made dinner for everyone (i think he's trying to learn how to cook since he moves into his dorm tomorrow..) and it was suprisingly AMAZING! he sauteed all these veggies in soya sauce, butter, mrs dash's seasoning, and a bit of cayenne for ages, and then fried chicken in the veggies, and served it over rice and it tasted sooooo goooood. i think he got his moms talent with cooking and just never noticed. it did, however, take like an hour and a half for him to make, and we had to sweep the kitchen floor after because he drops things like crazy, or chops in a mad frenzy.. and he is also a super grumpy chef, so we just pretty much left him to it.
my aunt so far has given him a costco-sized bottle of soya sauce, two boxes of cereal, some chives, two cans of mushrooms and tomoatoes, and offered to take him to costco next weekend! he really appreciated it, and it was sooo nice of her.
i think i accidentally brought a box of stay-at-home-stuff to loops, and left a box of bring-to-loops-stuff at home :( and i seem to have lost my retainers... uh oh.
all of ze fishies survived the move with ease, and i am SO happy!
anyhow i should go to sleep now, if i want to get up early enough to go for a run without it being blazing how! TTYLL.

whistles
long time no blog, but i am back with news, and lots of it!
this weekend i went on the most amazing trip to whistler with jodi, her sister, and the rest of the bridesmaids for bev's wedding! and best of all, for this stagette, heather won a trip for eight, RIVER RAFTING on the elaho/squamish river!
we were shuttled out of whistler from our super nice hotel (the delta inn) in whstler village, to a place near squamish, about an hour out of whistler, Canadian Outback Adventures. We had to leave late, but our super cool driver did like 923838957 kms per hour through construction and crazy windy turns so that we got there on time :)
upon arriving, we had to get dressed in bulky wetsuits and booties and wetsuit jackets and helments and such, and then we got to sit in a schoolbus packed with sweaty, impatient people all packed together like sardinesfor MORE THAN AN HOUR ON AN OLD, CRAPPY LOGGING ROAD.
my teeth almost fell out.
so by the time we got there, i was thinking "man this had better be good." because everyone was SO FREAKING HOT that it was super disgusto. oh yeah, did i mention it was like plus thirty five?!
anyhow, once we got in the raft after our like nintely hour long safety talk, (okay fifteen minutes..), IT WAS AMAZINGGGg. jodi and i sat in the front, and we got SO SOAKED in river water it was absolkutely amazing amaxing amazing. some of the waves went like right over our heads and our paddles couldt even reach the water. lots of white water rapids and such, but about half an hour in, we stopped........
TO GO CLIFF DIVING. in order to do this, you had to climb out of the raft and up a thirty-foot cliff in a huge water logged life vest, without any climbing gear, and in slippery rubber wetsuit boots.
i dont know if i have ever mentioned this on blogger, because i am not exactly proud of it, buuuuuut, i am.. umm.. like super deathly afriad of heights. for example: at work, i dont do any sign-putting-up or light changing, because once on the third step of the ladder and up, i freeze, and my legs start to shake and sometimes i cant move for a few minutes.
anyhow, i wanted to cliff dive SOSOSO bad, and i didnt tell anyone that i had a fear of heights hahah. so i determinedly, (and couragously, i might add), climbed right
out of the raft, second in line and began the treacherous ascent.
it was the most terrifying thing i have ever had to do in my life. unpon being a couple feet up, i felt completely paralyzed, but i refused to go back, even though it was almost impossible to shift my grip to find the next handhold. i eventually made it up, and than promptyl collapsed because i couldnt stand because my legs were shaking so badly. i just kinda sat on a peice of rock up on the ledge, until after jodi made the jump. when it was my turn to jump, i looked down at the river, and i wasnt really afraid of the jump at all, agfter all, if you fall into water, it really cant hurt you. so i jumped right away and without any hesitation ( =] ) and it was AWESOME! i was falling, falling and that was all cool and then suddenly, i was still falling and it was like WTF WTF WTF WHY HAVENT I HIT THE WATER YET?! and so the panicked falling feeling set in right before i hit the water, and so i forgot to plug my nose hahah. but really, it was one of the best experiences i have ever ever had.
we left the hotel at one, and didnt get back until about ninethirty, and they made us a lovely barbecue dinner once we got back to COA! we all chipped in to buy a CD of pictures, which i will upload to here and facebook as soon as i get them! :D
the rest of the weekend was awesome too, jodi and i had a grand time, the whole of whistler village is just like one big huge tourist party, allllll night long, every night. and to top it off, in the day time, there are GREAT stores like Guess and Le Chateau to keep you entertained.
i wish i lived there.
it was, however a bit trippy, because everything looked the same. the husky looked like a cabin. mcdonalds looked like a cabin. 711 looked like a cabin! hotels looked like cabins! le chateau looked like a cabin! might i add that these were very beautiful, expensive looking cabins, too.
anyhoo, EIGHT DAYS UNTIL I MOVE - SDLKGHSDLGHKLDSGK :D:D:D:D:D:D
later, aligator.

herbal essences
however, on the plus side, it IS summer, even though all this storming, raining, thundering weather doesnt really add up to the definition of summer in my book.
I am SO SO excited that i only have four more shifts at my second job! i dont know if i could make it ANY LONGER than that. i truly hate it, but i am proud of sticking it out for my allotted time, lol. plus, they really like me (score!) and keep telliong my dad that if i am EVER in need of a job when i am back in town, that i should call them, bladeey blah, and "she sure is a hard little worker" hahaahah. so this makes me proud lol.
oooooh... grant finalllyy got a job (HEHE) at Panago! lol. i am tres tres excited for the next timme i order pizza lol. but i wonder if i have to tip lol.. after all, that would feel like me going "here grant, just help yourself to the contents of my wallet for no reason," basically hahah.

bonjouuur
Anyhoooo, so the date for moving to kamloops has once again changed (gah) and this time, is closer to the origional date. so 36 more days to go now, i am moving on the 24th. gramt is coming down around then too, but i like to have exact dates, so i just made one and that will be when i am moving no matter what because i hate all this wishy washy "around then" and "i'm not sure the exact date" crap. July the 24th.
so actually i lied... before this i was actually trying to watch milan on my computer because i really like that little dragon, mushoo, and i havent seen that movie in AGES! i opened it up. it worked, and then i paused it to organize some music folders quickly, and then my whoooolleee computer crashed and went all blue-screeny and stuff.. so i am pretty sure it is milan that did it, but i dont want to figure it out right now and make my computer do two crash dumps in one night so i am just saving it for later when i feel lke siccing AVG on its virus ass.
oooh, heres a little tidbit for my readers..: you know my new job? cleaning? easy peasy lemon squeezy? well, it is. AND I HATE IT WITH A PASSION. thank god i onoly have five days left. its SO SO SO boring that i almost want to BEAT MYSELF TO DEATH with one of the ministry people's BERKENSTOCKS. oh yeah.. funny thing.. ALL of the ministry of fisheries people (4th floor) are THE SAME. just like clones. its a bit creepy really. here, i'll make a list to show you just how clone-like we are talking.
- every desk has not only one, but TWO extra pairs of shoes. one berkenstock, one nike air or slippers.
- no matter how hard you try, there is NO WAY to decipher if the cubicle owner is a male or female by its contents.
- you know how ministry of fisheries are all "no poaching, save the earth, save the fish!" right? ITS A BIG FAT LIE.
- every single man/woman has multiple pictures of dead, hunted down and shot animals. deer, moose, cat. you name it.
- about 75% of these pictures include young, young, one year old children with guns, sitting on their prey.
- about 50% of cubicles have DEAD STUFFED ANIMALS that they have killed glaring down on them from the walls.
- they all try to make look like they eat super healthy but they all have a secret passion for cheetos and trail mix. i find the eveidence when i vacuum.
- oh did i mention.. they all eat like toddlers. so much food on the ground.. you wouldnt beleive.
- they all love hand sanitizer.
- they all love to play crib.
- they all love fishing.
and i think thats enough right there, because i could go on and on, but honstley its starting to look like i am a bit of a stalker, really. but no, i'm truly not, i just get SO BORED at work, my restless mind catologues these things.
on a cheerier note, high school is over and done with! i am sad. happy. sad. i dont really know. but i do know i am ready to move on and get started in kamloops! i am interested in being an xray tech, but i dunno if you can take that at TRU, and the STUPID people wont phone me back EVER. if not, i'm just going to stick with my bachelor of arts.
YAY mcdonalds is open until 3:00am now! i went to get cheese burgers at midnight last night, and it was just soooo amazingly great.'
OMG! i was just taking pictures of my fishies, and benjamin was being SOOOO cuuuteee. he is such a photogenic little bugger, i am going to have to upload a bunch of pictures, i think ^_^ hehehe
so, above, from left to right, we have: eddy, (he's black, in the bottom corner, hard to see), penny, benjamin, and lulu (the whitey)! when i first wake up every morning, they all rush over to the corner of the tank by my bed and gulp and stare, and their little eyes say "good morning! i'm hungry!"
benjamin has biiig, biiig eyes, just like Eddy, though benjy's are the HUGEST-they make him appear as though he is somehow related to a hammerhead shark. they kind of seriously impair his vision, and i think take up the room where his brain was supposed to be because he really is really dumb.when i first got benners, he was orange..... UNDERNEATH mostly black splotching, which slowly just faded away, weirdly enough, and he also started out with normal flat eyes. he is the friendliest when you go up to the tank. he also likes to swim trough the waterfall the filer creates, even though every time he does so, it sends him spinning to the bottom of the tank and he almost always hits the rocks/other fish..
eddy is bffs with penny.. they lounge around at the bottom of the tank together, always just chilling and not swimming. unlike benjers, eddys eyes seem to improve his vision. he's the only survivor of the three first goldfishies i bought.. larry got stuck under a plant and hurt himself too badly to continue, and sammy got sick :( all little blackies.
penny is the big super beast. she eats food until she cannot eat any more because it is popping back out of her mouth whenever she opens it to gulp because she is SO stuffed full of FOOD. she is bigger than the rest and is a wee bit bossy, even though she never usually bites anyone else. she's a little bit deformed as she is missing a lower tail fin, tee hee.
lulu is super tiny, and is benny's pal... she is electrically hyper and always swims around crazy fast when anyone starts looking in the tank/talking. she eats kinda like penny, but cant seem to acheive much growth.. when i bought her, she had a tiny orange upper lip, but that seems to have disappeared over time.''
you laugh because i just wrote a 3000 word, illustrated biography of my goldfish? I LAUGH BECAUSE YOU READ IT.
no i'm not a freak.
yes i do talk to them.
i loooooveeee themmmmm :)

holy mackeral! wait..what is a mackeral anyways?
so i know its been uh.. two weeks since i have last blogged.. but it feels like it has been SO BUSY! grant and i are moving to loops in 16 days and HOLY MAN have things changed drastically since then!!
I have decided not to take the nail course! i guess i just kind of lost interest, and realized that... yeah, i am just not as into it as i was before. Jodi, on the other hand is still full speed ahead with her school, so i'll just get my nails done by her.. heehee.
grad was a lovely and grand success, everything went fairly smoothly, but pretty much sadly i STILL feel tired from being awak that whole night and the next day... grant spent the night at my house after, and while he got to sleep.. i got to listen to him talk HAHAH. gaahh, i just dunno how he doesnt realize that he is sleep ta;lking o_O drives me mad some days, but SOOO funny to listen to :P he says things like "wheres the cannon!?!" and "i'm going to eat some pie"... those are a couple of ones from last night LOL.
SO. another major big thing thsat happened was that... i got a bladder infection. sounds "blargh" right? well it SUCKS. if you have MEGA BAD pain in your right side, DO NOT wait 4 days to get it checked out by the doctor, and then wait another to get your antibiotics, because it will damn near kiiilll youuu with pain alone. i had to take a day off work because i had the worst ever fever and basically couldnt move my extremities without hurt. i also got pain pills that made me pee DARK ORANGE for about three days, antibiotics that say "do not be exposed to direct sunlight while on this medication" so i am acting all battish and staying inside my little cave of a house so that i dont like turn green and sprout a fungus or melt in the sun. anyhow, the pain is still with me, though greatly numbed from the past fews days, except for now i have a super sore lower back with no idea what from since i havent exactly been doing strenuous exercise.
being sick stinks like dinosaur droppings.
oooh, hey, i just realized that i didnt tell you what i AM going to do now, since i am not taking the nail course!! well, i would really like to be an xray tech i think, but i am not entirely sure, and i would definitely have to upgrade my biology/math etc, and i am not even sure if you can take that at tru, which is really the only option right now. if that doesnt work out, i am going to just take a bachelor of arts and get a degree in that, because you can use it for sooo many things, and i can major in like journalism or education or even like.. graphic design! i'm pretty stoked to move, anyhow, and i think just getting into school to take some courses will be my best bet, because if i quit school for a year, i kknow i am never ever going to want to go back lol. plus, a lot of people just figure out their careers along the way.
well, i am bringing home some boxes from bootlegger tomorrow.. o-O eep its getting close. i am feeling like super super super duper sad about leaving here and my family and stuff.. *sniffles* but then also SOSOSO excited to just move on and start fresh in a new city and stuff!!
sorrryyy i havent fixed the comment thing yet.. too lazy lol.. just leave me a facebook/email one as a substitute! smartcookie01@gmail.com, yo.

I am in PG to learn the new POS system for bootlegger's new tills to teach to everyone else at bootlegger at home! whee. it is a two-day long thng, 9-5 monday and tuesday.
I left yesterday at about six. before i had gotten to the duckworth lake turnoff, i had seen THREE cops just cruising and pulling people over.. i saw three more on my way too. seriously though, it was a crazy good trip... i got lost in quesnel, missed my turn in PG, and followed my incorrect mapquest instructions to the "Ramada" which was not actually the ramada, it turns out, but what might have been the ramada's parking structure. cool, i know... so when i got there, i was like.. wtf, greasyyyy.... but i took out my suitcase and laptop, and walked across the street to the entrance and it.was.locked. needed a key-card to access after 4:30 pm. AHHH. i kind of panicked, called my mom, called the hotel, and eventually figured out that the super-stupid internet instructions were wrong-o! at least, however, they were only off by about a block, so after that i made it there with nooo problems.
did i mention i also turned the wrong way down a one-way street? yup. but at least it was a deserted one lol.
OMG most important part of the trip EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER:: I SAW A MOOSE FINALLY! :D:D:D:D:D okay well i THINK it was a moose... i was just driving along, and on the side of the road, there was like a sort of hill/ditch/cliff leading down to this icky sort of swampy creek thinger, and in the water, there was a thing. creature. moose. whatever. ---- it was grey.. like mottled grey, but it didn't have any ears or ANY horns that i could see, and it was yawning or something o_O and it was SOAKING wet. maybe that was its bathing area? but let me assure you, it was DEFINIETLY not a horse or donkey or cow. but any other suggestions are welcome, because i have no freaking idea what else it could have been, son i am just sticking to "moose" because it was one of my life goals to see one. but no horns? wtf? well myabe it was a baby moose? or an ALBINO moose?
eh? but darker. maybe because it was WET? yeah.
i also got a room key that didn't work, and that was a paiiin, but then it turns out that none of the room kjeys they have for this room key work, and some dont work for other rooms tooo. the machine thinger that makes them work was supposed to come today but they didnt get it... it is sort of a huge pain, because i have to get a hotel greeter dude to escort me like every single time. he is really nice though, so that is a bonus.
when i got here last night (this is another huuugueee perk...) they valet parked my car :D it was aweeesommmeee! and they also bring it to me whenever i want to leave tooo! yayayayayyay
anyhoo, time for my learning to take place, i will finish this laterrrrrr :)
okay i am back!
learned tons, the new till thinger is AWESOMEE
buit i can't think of anything else to say! oh yeaaah... i went to the mall, had to follow a couple of the other girls who were going because i had nooo idea how to get there and it was like super far awayy. shopped for like two hours, and got a cute blue strapless dress, a plain white lacy tank, an awesssomeee longish necklace, and the CUTEST bright bluey bag from aldo! :D:D:D
i am ghetto poor so i just went to like garage and this sweet place called dynamic.
i just called grant, and he was supposed to call me back from the hotel phone, but he didnt so i called him back and he fell asleep again (he was sleeping when i called) so now he was supposed to call again, but he DIDNT so i am officially super pissed off. ASFKSJLDFJSDGGGGRRRRRRRR
anyhoo, i am going to go buy some fooood from the restaraunt downstairs, cuz i am starVING!

GAH!
so here's the deal: i dont have that money saved up yet o_O obviously, because everything is now like way way way ahead of schedule, we dont have an apartment, blah blah blah, and we are graduating in less that two weeks! AHHH! we have decided (sadly..) that the best thing to do will just be to live separately for now: me at my auntie wendy and uncle bob's place, for 200$ a month including food (whhheeeee), and him just in the dorms, for like 350-500$ per month plus food. its just cheaper, and readily available, since all of a sudden its crunch time.
i also decided to start my school six weeks earlier that the planned Sept 28th, because that way we will finish around the same time, and we will be down there anyways, so i dont want to just waste time, comprende-vous?
i am in some ways super releived: basically now we are both good for money, i wont have to work tons, and the stress is off because we both have a plan set in stone. or rather... wet concrete. in other ways i am tres tres disappointed =/ and so is grant, but we both know it is the best thing for right now.
anyhooo, thats my crazy news, i am off to change the day counter :O

kamloops, here we come!

mickey d's dinner extravaganza
after a lovely dinner, (i tried a bite of a mac snack wrap - it was actually think it was okay, but i thought it was going to be super gross.) anyhoo, after that we sang along to random country music and then went to dairy queen with grants grandparents, which was niceerooo! i got a rasberry truffle blizzard, and it was good but had WAAAY too much chocolate =/
ps i hope everyone is listening to the new music because i am just loooving it! ^_^ especially the first song, i LOVE deirks bentley!
since i have already blogged today, i am goint to go! me and mason might go to the movies because he is bored. i'm bored too come tho thing of it... and he will pay :) hahhahaha. i dunno if we are going to see angels and demons or ghosts of girlfriends past.. i hope the latter, but i think he can pick since he is paying lollll.
ttfn!
frances fixed my blog for me (xoxoxo) so now the music and google ads and stuff are all back on the side again! :) the music plays only when you click it now, but you should check it out because i added some gooder country stuff ^_^ also i will be changing the layout soon, but for now its just going to be the lame generic one.
actually never mind.
i have decided to just change it now :) so hopefully i dont get bored.

long-winded.
actually come to think of it... i think i am going to invent that. the "Easy Put-Away Sleeping Bag" okay no one steal that idea. i might gte rich, but i dont really know how to "invent something." like how would i get it on the market? i sont have a sleeping bag making factory or anything..
grad pictures are actually on wednesday now, because it was pooouuuring rain tonight. i was actually glad, becaus ei have like the sickest, flemmy coough, and look like the living dead, because i am soooo tired >.< also, that lets me have time to find a good outfit, because at work today i still had NO IDEA.
grant got a haircut, though! i am really glad :) the hardresser lady cut it kind of like.. really straight across on his forehead, but when he makes it all good-looking with his gelly stuff, it looks good ^_^ i asked him what he was going to wear for his casual pictures, and he actually picked a really really good outfit! good thing i pick all his clothes so he can't mess it up too bad, ahahhhahaahahahhaah. whatever would he do without me...? heehee.
so for two weeks i have... negative nine dollars and a birthday present. i owe nine dollars, and i owe courtney hannah montana CD (hehe) because her birthday was may 10th and i am kind of really too broke, so we have a lovely agreement where she buys her own present and i pay her back.. ^_^ i know, i know... sad, but i spent my llast 15 dollars filling up my car today. actually... i wouldnt really call it "fillin up" because it only went from a quarter tank to half tank. which is LAME because i dont think i can survive on half a tank for two weeks. *sigh*
my is to bum some money of mason and then never pay him back.
hahhaha just kidding.
i'll pay him back.
my am i ever long-winded. i meant to have this be a like three second post. one paragraph tops. oh well. but now i should probably go.
i am going to take pictures of my goldfish for fun.
dont judge me.
tahhhh for now.
ps: look below this post, because i actually posted somehting totally worth reading rigt before this. so go ahead, scroll down.
pps: wwow i am doing good for "ps's" because usually there are about four or five before the actually post is completed. though i just kind of ruined it by adding this one...

What LOVE means to a 4-8 year old . .
Slow down for three minutes to read this. It is so worth it. Touching words from the mouth of babes. A group of professional people posed this question to a group of 4 to 8 year-olds, 'What does love mean?'
The answers they got were broader and deeper than anyone could have imagined See what you think:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
'When my grandmother got arthritis, she couldn't bend over and paint her toenails anymore. So my grandfather does it for her all the time, even when his hands got arthritis too. That's love.'
Rebecca- age 8
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
'When someone loves you, the way they say your name is different.
You just know that your name is safe in their mouth.'
Billy - age 4
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
'Love is when a girl puts on perfume and a boy puts on shaving cologne and they go out and smell each other.'
Karl - age 5
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
'Love is when you go out to eat and give somebody most of your French fries without making them give you any of theirs.'
Chrissy - age 6
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
'Love is what makes you smile when you're tired.'
Terri - age 4
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
'Love is when my mommy makes coffee for my daddy and she takes a sip before giving it to him, to make sure the taste is OK.'
Danny - age 7
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
'Love is when you kiss all the time. Then when you get tired of kissing, you still want to be together and you talk more. My Mommy and Daddy are like that.
They look gross when they kiss'
Emily - age 8
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
'Love is what's in the room with you at Christmas if you stop opening presents
and listen.'
Bobby - age 7 (Wow!)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
'If you want to learn to love better, you should start with a friend who you hate,'
Nikka - age 6
(we need a few million more Nikka's on this planet)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
'Love is when you tell a guy you like his shirt, then he wears it everyday.'
Noelle - age 7
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
'Love is like a little old woman and a little old man who are still friends even after they know each other so well.'
Tommy - age 6
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
'During my piano recital, I was on a stage and I was scared. I looked at all the people watching me and saw my daddy waving and smiling.
He was the only one doing that I wasn't scared anymore.'
Cindy - age 8
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
'My mommy loves me more than anybody
You don't see anyone else kissing me to sleep at night.'
Clare - age 6
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
'Love is when Mommy gives Daddy the best piece of chicken.'
Elaine-age 5
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
'Love is when Mommy sees Daddy smelly and sweaty and still says he is handsomer than Robert Redford.'
Chris - age 7
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
'Love is when your puppy licks your face even after you left him alone all day.'
Mary Ann - age 4
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
'I know my older sister loves me because she gives me all her old clothes and has to go out and buy new ones.'
Lauren - age 4
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
'When you love somebody, your eyelashes go up and down and little stars come out of you.' (what an image)
Karen - age 7
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
this one
'Love is when Mommy sees Daddy on the toilet and she doesn't think it's gross.'
Mark - age 6
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
'You really shouldn't say 'I love you' unless you mean it. But if you mean it, you should say it a lot. People forget.'
Jessica - age 8
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And the final one
The winner was a four year old child whose next door neighbor was an elderly gentleman who had recently lost his wife.
Upon seeing the man cry, the little boy went into the old gentleman's yard, climbed onto his lap, and just sat there.
When his Mother asked what he had said to the neighbor, the little boy said,
'Nothing, I just helped him cry'
