hellloooo, blog-readers!
long time no update, i know, i know...
well its time for a good long one i think, because much has changed, for example: I LIVE IN KAMLOOPS?!?!? I LOVE IT HERE. so far things are going along so fine and dandy and just peachy keen that it makes me feel like eventually something has to go sour right? well i truly hope not. live in loops is far from sour. its downright sugary.
I have officially lived her exactly one week today. grant and i have been to the river almost every single sun-filled day, and its pretty awesome. my days are pretty much filled with hanging out with frances and nick and also grant after school, and going to see both of the ponies all of the time, which is AWESOME, but also a little sad, because through a very unfortunate series of events, they are both quite lame at the same time! :(
on tuesday grant, nick, frances and i ALL ventured out to fieldstone to visit lady, and we ended up giving her a nice bath (its been like plus forty here almost every day *whew*... even the horses need some respite) which ended up getting us all just soaking wet, and lady super squeaky clean! grant and i even had a sort of mini water fight, and i ended up dousing frances a couple of times... i was surprised, but grant was actually pretty enthusiastic about scrubbing lady down with pert plus, and then walking her around the arena to dry a little bit! i was thrilllleddd.
this weekend jodi might come up to visit, which i am SOO stoked about, so i really hope she can make it! and on monday, grant, nick, me, frances and grant's roommate jaret are all going to make a road trip up to vernon to go to the water slides there! and on sunday night we are having a bit of a "housewarming" for grant, heheh.
i am keeping my room here at my aunt and uncle's quite clean, which was basically the one condition i had to abide by in order to be allowed to board here, along with the rent, of course. it is sooo different than living at home: for example, tons and tons of food, and all the kinds that i like (gasp), its waaay quiter, i dont have to do the dishes or laundry or take out the trash, or make dinner or even be home at a certain time. It feels like i'm getting spoiled o_O. of course, there are other things that are different in another way... like i have to learn to recycle, make sure i wring out the dishcloth, i have to make sure i don't spray the mirror when i brush my teeth, and i always have to turn the lights off after i leave the room, hahah.
but honestly, i dont even have to wash my own towels!! my aunt comes in and tidies a little every day, remakes my bed if i do a not-entirely-perfect-job on it, and picks up random little things off of the floor. life is gooood. everything here is so perfectly neat and tidy, that tonight i almost had a heart attack when there was a toothpick sitting on the edge of the sink. i resisted the urge to throw it out... it must have been there for a reason. uncle bob doesnt just leave things lying about randomly... nor does he like the smell of popcorn, meat cooking in the house, or wet dishcloth. and i also discovered that my auntie seems to have an unequaled weakness for collecting EVERY sort of little shampoo, lotion, bar soap, body wash and mouthwash that a hotel can offer. in fact, her bathroom cupboards hide hordes of containers amassed into not-so-small armies of multicoloured amenities.
i took my aptitude test thinger from TRU on tuesday, and i am really excited to get the results next week!! i really just hope it doesnt say that i am best suited to being a janitor or something, because that would be a forty dollar rip off.. and a lifetime let-down.
i also went for a run on tuesday, and i am sure feeling it in my butt muscles today. let me tell you - its no mean feat to run uphill for twenty minutes in +40 degree weather after you havent so much walked more than ten feet at one time, to and from your car on your way to work and home...
speaking of work..
i really miss my job, no joke.
i went into the bootlegger here the other day, and it was just so WEIRD not being an employee there. also.. i got NO service at all. if i had been a secret shopper, boy oh boy they would have had a -1 coming right at them! i am going to apply there next week actually, and if i get hired they'll learn from a pro about customer service! hahahahah, kiddding a little. but really, just a little.
next tuesday i am going to go job hunt, but until then i think i've earned a bit of a break.
monday is also my dad's birthday and i have NO IDEA what to get him. except perhaps a mas order of socks from walmart hehehehe. it would be quite hilarious, as he almays complains about not having enough socks since mason is constantly stealing his. he just probably wouldnt expect to get about forty pairs. even if i do get his socks tomorrow, i still dont really think that they'd get there for monday since monday is a holiday... :( oooh well. better late than never, i suppose.
tonight grant made dinner for everyone (i think he's trying to learn how to cook since he moves into his dorm tomorrow..) and it was suprisingly AMAZING! he sauteed all these veggies in soya sauce, butter, mrs dash's seasoning, and a bit of cayenne for ages, and then fried chicken in the veggies, and served it over rice and it tasted sooooo goooood. i think he got his moms talent with cooking and just never noticed. it did, however, take like an hour and a half for him to make, and we had to sweep the kitchen floor after because he drops things like crazy, or chops in a mad frenzy.. and he is also a super grumpy chef, so we just pretty much left him to it.
my aunt so far has given him a costco-sized bottle of soya sauce, two boxes of cereal, some chives, two cans of mushrooms and tomoatoes, and offered to take him to costco next weekend! he really appreciated it, and it was sooo nice of her.
i think i accidentally brought a box of stay-at-home-stuff to loops, and left a box of bring-to-loops-stuff at home :( and i seem to have lost my retainers... uh oh.
all of ze fishies survived the move with ease, and i am SO happy!
anyhow i should go to sleep now, if i want to get up early enough to go for a run without it being blazing how! TTYLL.
