hey hey hey!
long time no blog, but i am back with news, and lots of it!
this weekend i went on the most amazing trip to whistler with jodi, her sister, and the rest of the bridesmaids for bev's wedding! and best of all, for this stagette, heather won a trip for eight, RIVER RAFTING on the elaho/squamish river!
we were shuttled out of whistler from our super nice hotel (the delta inn) in whstler village, to a place near squamish, about an hour out of whistler, Canadian Outback Adventures. We had to leave late, but our super cool driver did like 923838957 kms per hour through construction and crazy windy turns so that we got there on time :)
upon arriving, we had to get dressed in bulky wetsuits and booties and wetsuit jackets and helments and such, and then we got to sit in a schoolbus packed with sweaty, impatient people all packed together like sardinesfor MORE THAN AN HOUR ON AN OLD, CRAPPY LOGGING ROAD.
my teeth almost fell out.
so by the time we got there, i was thinking "man this had better be good." because everyone was SO FREAKING HOT that it was super disgusto. oh yeah, did i mention it was like plus thirty five?!
anyhow, once we got in the raft after our like nintely hour long safety talk, (okay fifteen minutes..), IT WAS AMAZINGGGg. jodi and i sat in the front, and we got SO SOAKED in river water it was absolkutely amazing amaxing amazing. some of the waves went like right over our heads and our paddles couldt even reach the water. lots of white water rapids and such, but about half an hour in, we stopped........
TO GO CLIFF DIVING. in order to do this, you had to climb out of the raft and up a thirty-foot cliff in a huge water logged life vest, without any climbing gear, and in slippery rubber wetsuit boots.
i dont know if i have ever mentioned this on blogger, because i am not exactly proud of it, buuuuuut, i am.. umm.. like super deathly afriad of heights. for example: at work, i dont do any sign-putting-up or light changing, because once on the third step of the ladder and up, i freeze, and my legs start to shake and sometimes i cant move for a few minutes.
anyhow, i wanted to cliff dive SOSOSO bad, and i didnt tell anyone that i had a fear of heights hahah. so i determinedly, (and couragously, i might add), climbed right
out of the raft, second in line and began the treacherous ascent.
it was the most terrifying thing i have ever had to do in my life. unpon being a couple feet up, i felt completely paralyzed, but i refused to go back, even though it was almost impossible to shift my grip to find the next handhold. i eventually made it up, and than promptyl collapsed because i couldnt stand because my legs were shaking so badly. i just kinda sat on a peice of rock up on the ledge, until after jodi made the jump. when it was my turn to jump, i looked down at the river, and i wasnt really afraid of the jump at all, agfter all, if you fall into water, it really cant hurt you. so i jumped right away and without any hesitation ( =] ) and it was AWESOME! i was falling, falling and that was all cool and then suddenly, i was still falling and it was like WTF WTF WTF WHY HAVENT I HIT THE WATER YET?! and so the panicked falling feeling set in right before i hit the water, and so i forgot to plug my nose hahah. but really, it was one of the best experiences i have ever ever had.
we left the hotel at one, and didnt get back until about ninethirty, and they made us a lovely barbecue dinner once we got back to COA! we all chipped in to buy a CD of pictures, which i will upload to here and facebook as soon as i get them! :D
the rest of the weekend was awesome too, jodi and i had a grand time, the whole of whistler village is just like one big huge tourist party, allllll night long, every night. and to top it off, in the day time, there are GREAT stores like Guess and Le Chateau to keep you entertained.
i wish i lived there.
it was, however a bit trippy, because everything looked the same. the husky looked like a cabin. mcdonalds looked like a cabin. 711 looked like a cabin! hotels looked like cabins! le chateau looked like a cabin! might i add that these were very beautiful, expensive looking cabins, too.
anyhoo, EIGHT DAYS UNTIL I MOVE - SDLKGHSDLGHKLDSGK :D:D:D:D:D:D
later, aligator.
