Whiskey, whaaaaat? Yessiree boys and girls, last night was one for the books.  Amanda, Jason and I went to Heroes for their last night open since classes are out for the year, and I of course drank half a mickey of crown royal on the walk from the car to the bar, and by the time we were in the door I was having a grand ol time.  Maybe before we even walked in the door. The evening was spent d-d-dancing away like a crazy person and listening to some pretty decent live local bands.  It was a totally chill crowd with good music and DJs, and honestly, not very busy, which I think I actually really liked! By the time we got home (this involved a treacherous journey in which Amanda drove Jason's genesis and I floated around in the "back seat" with all the DJ equip) I was basket case of hysterical giggles. Maybe the entire bar was hot boxed and that haze wasn't from a smoke machine? Hmm. Anyhoo, we immediately walked in the door of home and us drunkies demanded Amanda take us to Mc D's for double quarter pounders. I disgusted myself by scarfing one down in ten seconds flat whilst laying upside down, and then munching on a boston cream donut for dessert. Blech?  The evening was concluded with me rapping along to Karmin's cover of Look At Me Now over and over like some sort of pale gingery gangsta with a lack of weapons or talent.  Win, win, win.

Today I have so far drank the equivalent of FIVE standard size water bottles, and I am feeelin goooood! Mana made me french toast when I woke up, and I even got some cleaning done, went to the grocery store, and showed up to work looking cute! Daaang i'm lucky to have such a great roommate/DD/besty!

Wednesday I went to a ladies night thing at the mall because Candace had her photobooth set up there, it was sooo much fun! I got my makeup done, there was eyebrow threading, henna, health assessments, raffles, and freee FOOD! Well I suppose it wasn't really free, but I just walked in like I owned the place when I got there, and I suppose convinced the dude at the ticket booth than I belonged, because I never did end up paying... heh.  I spent a lot of time hanging out by the snacks because I hadn't had dinner, and as I was shoving face with meat & cheese cracker sandwiches, one of the hosts walked up and pointedly selected one cucumber sliver to nibble on and gave me a scathing look that plainly said "you're a fatass." Naturally I made eye contact and picked up two pieces of cake and a brownie (these were actually for Candace but I didn't mention it.)

1. Dancing
2. Really nice cashiers that totally make your day

ask directions from a genie in a bottle of jim beam and she lies to you

Heyo, kids!

I've done seven days of being grateful, and though I have really enjoyed doing it, I don't think that I really feel noticeably happier... Maybe my happy is just maxed out? I mean, c'mon, I AM pretty happy when you think about it.  Anyhow, I'm going to carry on with my daily grateful post for the next two weeks and just see what happens!

Right now, I am relaxing in the sunny warm showroom of Honda, drinking a delicious blended mango juice.  It is turning into quite a good day.  To update you all on the recent craziness of my life - I moved into a awesomeee new place in Juni with Amanda as my roommate and the place is wonderful! But my landlords are completely psycho.  They started out wanting to keep half of their shit in our storage space (uh, no), text us rude snotty things every other day, told me that we have to keep the blinds shut because my cats scare their dog (WTF), and that if we keep having sooo many people over, we'll have to start paying part of the water bill. Um... what? Not to mention, their fluffy, cotton ball ugly tiny dog wakes me up every morning just before eight, barking and then when it doesn't get acknowledged, it begins to HOWL like a HOUND.

Needless to say, we are moving out.

So I'm sneakily planning and dreaming and conniving and I'm going to see what I can come up with over the next couple of weeks before we give our notice on May the 1st.  I'm just sooo sick of paying someone else's mortgage with my own rent money, but I'm not really in a position where I want to have the responsibility of, or even could buy a real house.

I know you all have your noses pressed up against the screen, holding your breath to see which decision I make next in my crazy life, so not to worry, I will be keeping you posted ;)

Woweee you all are great! So great! Thanks to some seriously GREAT blogger updating, I can finally see just HOW great! Seeing that people really do read this and obviously enjoy and become return readers is sooo rewarding, and it really makes me realize that I'm not writing just to write! Why you all continue to read my occasionally snarky but mostly trival rants is beyond me, but I can't say I don't love it! Time to start commenting y'all, because I know you're out there ;)

Ps: the pulled pork was AWESOME! Even though I was soo full of WHOPPER and poutine I could hardly even force down one bunwich until midnight! Gosh I love whoppers. Must be the obscene amount of mayo...

My haters are real

1. Roommates*
2. Ginseng
3. Mom

*Amanda woke me up just in time to throw on pants and speed to work yesterday - I guess I slept through my alarm. Legit, 9:48 I was dreaming, 10:01 I was in the door to work and I even looked half decently cute. Not to mention, roommates usually mean real dinners. I would be happy with coming home and cracking a can of salmon and calling it good for the night, but Mana actually likes to have a meal haha. This week so far we've had broccoli and cauliflower with homemade cheese sauce and marinated steak, chicken tikka masala with mango buttermilk smoothies, and today I am making pulled pork!! (I know, I know you're all "Wtf Niki YOU'RE cooking?!?!") this is definitely a one off, but I had pulled pork over Christmas at work and I had never tried it before! It was seriously the most delicious thing I have ever tasted it my life!! Ever! So when I discovered Amanda's crock pot and pork tenderloin was but one get one free at coopers, I just couldn't pass it up :) I'll keep you posted on how it tastes, but so far the house smells AMAZING!

We can talk rocket science, jesus or politics

I had a DELICIOUS coffee tonight! Key word,'tonight.' Unfortunately as some of you know all too well, I can hardly sleep after having a coffee before 9am! I'm gonna have to write tonight off as an all-nighter unless I decide to take some NyQuil to knock myself out, but I'm really not sure if I should condone that sort of gratuitous drug use... Hahahahaha... For those of you out there that are failing to see the humor - the irony is in the fact that caffeine itself is a drug, and a very addictive one at that. Anyhoo, I decided to stop my fingers drumming away frantically and to prevent a nervous twitch from setting in, I would distract myself from all of this pent up energy by sharing my latest obsession with you - instagram! For months I thought it was stupid, but alas, here I am eating my words!

Anyhoo - enjoy, and follow me: niki_447 <3

stand a little taller

I have this new thing that I can't wait to try - apparently, writing down three things that you are grateful for every day for 21 days, that you will be significantly happier - just like that! Instant! Not to mention that the effects of this can last for up to SIX MONTHS! Perfect. Easy fix! Too easy probably, but i'm going to give it a shot for three weeks anyways. I thought it was interesting, though, that most people assume that success leads to happiness, when really it is more likely the other way around.  The happier you are, the more optimistic you are, and in turn the more likely it is that you will climb further up the corporate ladder -  employers like go-getters, and people that are good with customers and co-workers. Not to mention, a happy employee is much more likely a long-term employee.  I staunchly believe that when I love what I do, success has to come. When the mood is positive, we give rise to our self-esteem, leading to a relentless pursuit of success.

Today I am grateful for:

1. tuna melts
2. free water at dealerships
3. the smell of freshy mown gras
